“ We are part of the universe. We are the Universe”.
On 19th February 2011, the students of Std.IV conducted an informative and interesting assembly in the morning. Eleven students participated in the activity and the theme was “Our Solar System”.
Isn’t it true that the small children love to be in the world of shining, twinkling stars, the gorgeous moon, the bright red sun and also to demand a wish when they see any Tutta Hua Tara in the sky.
Children are all in attention, when they do something prick up their ears with curiosity. Their eyes twinkle with joy of discovering something of their own. Their hearts leap up with delight. This rare transformation in usually impatient children is seen when get an opportunity to do something on their own rather than reading and learning from the text book. Their fascination towards such things has enthused us to focus on some interesting facts about the solar system.
For example :
Mars : It is called the Red Planet. Mars is about half the size of Earth.
Mercury : It is the smallest planet and a year on Mercury lasts only eighty-eight Earth days.
Earth : It is the only planet with one moon.
This activity will help the children to get familiar with the solar system and to know more about it, in an interesting way
