Value education is always essential to shape a student’s life and to give him an opportunity of performing himself on the global stage. Values answer some specific human requirements.
The maxim “ Catch them young”, emphasizes the need to make students aware of values such as love, care, truth, non violence, simplicity etc.
Values merely perceived is valueless. It must be lived. On 18/11/11, students of Std I,II&III, watched a colorful presentation on the topic ‘Communal Harmony’. They understood in India people following different religions , celebrate diverse festivals. However all festivals signify worshiping lord, seeking blessings of elders, eating sweets & meeting people. Teachers interacted with students to convey the message we all are one, we need to respect all religions & live happily.
Teachers found this a nice way of imbibing values than to preach with a text book!
